Nation Honors Employees with 10-15-20 Years of Service
Oneida Indian Nation employees with 10, 15 and 20 years of service were recognized at a Sept. 1 dinner. The Nation employment is now at about 4,800 and includes employees from both the government and business enterprises, including Turning Stone Resort and Casino. The Nation is the largest employer in Oneida and Madison counties, and the fourth largest employer in the16 counties of greater Central New York. This year, 154 employees reached the various career milestones.

Oneida Day at the State Fair
Oneida Nation Representative Ray Halbritter participated in the Oneida Day activities in The New York State Fair on Wednesday, Sept 1. He introduced the crowd in attendance to Oneida Nation Dancers and told of the importance of the Haudenosaunee two row wampum and its meaning of peaceful coexistence. In honor of Women’s Day at the NYS Fair, Halbritter explained the important role of women in the Oneida’s matrilineal society.

Mahan and Kerr Capture Notah Begay III Foundation Challenge
The pairing of Hunter Mahan and Cristie Kerr outshot a field of PGA and LPGA TOUR stars to win the third annual Notah Begay III (NB3) Foundation Challenge at Atunyote Golf Club. The twosome finished the mixed team, best ball tournament at 10 under par, two shots better than the runner-up duo of Rickie Fowler and Annika Sorenstam.
The event raised $1.25 million for the NB3 Foundation, promoting sustainable and innovative sports and wellness programs to fight the disproportionate incidence of obesity and diabetes among Native American youth.

The Oneida Indian Nation is the largest employer in Oneida and Madison counties and the number four employer in the 16 counties of greater Central New York. The jobs performed by the Nation’s 4,750 employees run the full gamut-- from dealers, food & beverage servers, golf pros and chefs to lawyers, accountants, financial analysts and doctors.

California Resort Exec Named VP of F&B at Turning Stone Resort and Casino
Scott Kidd of Lincoln, Calf. has been chosen as vice president of food and beverage at the Oneida Nation’s Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Upstate New York. He has more than 25 years of experience in the resort food and beverage industry. He will oversee all of the food and beverage operations at Turning Stone, including more than 15 restaurants, catering for hundreds of business meetings and wedding receptions, all beverage operations, room service and the employee cafeteria, as well as a staff of more 1,100 people.
