11th Annual Employee Talent Show

The Oneida Indian Nation’s 11th Annual Employee Talent Show proved once again that the Nation’s workforce is a deeply gifted and diverse bunch. Employees from all over the Nation’s enterprises took the Showroom stage March 30 to sing and dance before an enthusiastic crowd, while others displayed their artistic talents in photography; art, sculpture and painting; handmade crafts; and literary arts.

Several employees made their debut performances at this year’s show, including Tammy Chaires (HR, Dreamcatcher Plaza), Johnnie Mason (Delta Café), Cassie Koch (Oneida Sky), Cary Carpenter (Player Services) and Tanya Moore-Connell (Lodge), who won the People’s Choice award for her rendition of Alicia Keys’ “Tell You Something.”

The program was full of perennial favorites, too, including the Entertainment Department’s Jack Dempsey and Games’ John “Ziggy” Signorelli, Paul Hazel, and Chuck Bliss.

Alisia Hudson (Ahsi Day Spa) won third place and $100 this year with her version of Natalie Cole’s “Orange Colored Sky.” Dale Romleski (Marketing), who has performed in most of the Nation’s 11 talent shows, showed off his ventriloquism skills again this year, earning a tie for second place. His partner at second place was Training Manager Melanie Brunet-Relyea, who performed the first opera piece ever entered into the annual show. Dale and Melanie each received $300.

The big winner of the night was Poker’s Brian Bright, who impressed the crowd and the judges with his energetic performance of Elton John’s “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me.” Brian received $500 and the possibility of being invited to open for a national act in the Showroom in the next 12 months.
