Oneida Nation Announces 3% Pay Increase for Its WorkforceLocal Economy to Get $2.7 Million-Plus Boost
Ray Halbritter, Nation Representative and CEO of Nation Enterprises, announced today a pay increase of three percent for all full-time and part-time employees. The total amount of the pay increase for the Nation’s workforce is more than $2.7 million—money that employees and their families will spend at local stores, companies and restaurants, as well as added revenue for federal, state and local governments from increased taxes.
In authorizing the pay increase, Halbritter stated in a letter to all employees, “I am pleased to report that the Nation’s business strategies, and our efforts to curb expenses, have yielded an overall financial position that is better in 2009 than in prior years and we are continuing slow financial growth in 2010.” The increase for employees is effective June 7, 2010 for employees with at least six months of service and employees will see the increase in their paychecks starting June 25, 2010. The pay increase benefits employees in all Nation programs and businesses, including its government operations, Turning Stone Resort and Casino, SāvOn convenience stores, Indian Country Today, three marinas, its major agricultural operation, Four Directions Productions, its health department and family services, police department, public safety, and administrative support services.
