Three Police Officers Recognized for Professionalism - 6/14/11
Ray Halbritter, Nation Representative and CEO of Nation Enterprises, recently recognized three members of the Oneida Nation Police Department for their professional efforts in the line of duty . Officer Dennis Hilgenberg received a Letter of Commendation and the Platinum CEO award for his investigation and arrest of two burglars who broke into Nation property and attempted to steal scrap metal from the building. Halbritter also presented Sergeant Robert Nolan and Officer Manfried Florian Jr. each with a Letter of Appreciation for assisting with the investigation.
The Oneida Nation Police recently earned reaccreditation for the fourth time from the Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). The Nation's law enforcement agency is the only one operated by a sovereign Indian nation to earn accreditation. Only six law enforcement agencies in New York State (out of about 600), including the Nation Police, are accredited by CALEA. The Nation’s 37-member police force collectively has about 900 years of experience in law enforcement.
