Calendar activities are open to Nation Members and Health Center clients and where noted, employees.

Dental coloring Contest
The dental department invites children up to age 12 to enter the coloring contest, to help celebrate Children’s Dental Health Month. Coloring pages will be available at the dental reception desk from Feb. 1 to March 2. Entries are due by March 2 and will be judged by age group. One entry per child. Coloring can be with crayons, colored pencils or markers. Prizes will be awarded. For more details, call Lisa Winn at 829-8715.

MARCH PREVIEW
Three Sisters Dinner - Thursday, March 15 at the C&E Center. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The buffet will feature traditional dishes of corn, beans and squash, and other nutritiously prepared food. Three Sisters garden seeds and cookbook recipes will be distributed. The evening will end with a social dance and door prize drawings. Reservations accepted until March 5. RECREATION DEPARTMENT

Zumba® Classes
Open to Nation Members and Health Center clients age 14 and older; employees age 16 and older
Instructor is Carmen Keane
Classes held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Monthly fees apply
Participants may bring one guest, age 14 and older. Guest must be accompanied by a registered Zumba® participant at all times

After School Program
The program is held Monday through Friday at the Rec Center from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. and is open to grades 7 - 12. Students can get help with homework and school assignments, earn rewards for improved grades, learn new skills in special workshops, use the new computer lounge, and take offsite field trips.

Adult Basketball League
The league continues every Wednesday through March 7. Games are played at 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. The league is open to the public, age 18 and older. Teams pay a $10 registration fee and $20 per game to cover referee costs.

Boys Basketball Program
A boys basketball program will be held Thursdays from Feb. 9 to March 29 from 7 p.m. - 8 p.m. The program is open to the public age 13 - 17.

Oneida Hawks Boys Lacrosse
The lacrosse program is open to the public age 12 - 14. Practice is held in the Nation gym on Thursdays from 7 p.m. - 8 p.m. through Feb. 2. Players must provide a lacrosse stick, helmet, gloves, shoulder pads, mouth guard and athletic protector.

Saturday Movie Night
Saturday is movie night in the Rec Center from 6:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. Age 13 and older.

YOUTH AMBASSADORS PROGRAM, JR. YAP AND NATIVE YOUTH HOPE IN ACTION

YAP-NYHIA Workshops
Workshops are on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 14, and 28 from 6 - 7 p.m. and focus on creating public service announcements.

YAP-NYHIA Activities
Feb. 2 - laser tag at Shoppingtown Mall, 5:30 - 11:30 p.m. Spending money optional.
Feb. 10 - ice skating at Clinton Square Ice Rink, 5:30 - 9 p.m. Spending money optional.
To be eligible for Friday activities, YAP members must attend at least one Tuesday workshop.
Feb. 18 - Haudenosaunee Youth Dance and overnight, 5 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19

Jr. YAP Workshops
Workshops held Feb. 7, 14 and 28 from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. The theme is creating healthy activities posters. On Feb. 17 is a trip to Black Mamba Skate Park at Shoppingtown Mall from 5:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. To be eligible, students must attend at least one February workshop. Spending money is the student’s responsibility; pizza will be provided.

Winter Break Activities
Activities will be offered Feb. 21 - 24 and are open to students in grades 3 - 12* from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily. Cost is $10 and includes all activities, including the Labrador Mountain ski trip. Money is due on or before Feb. 21.
*Feb. 21 - visit the MOST (Museum of Science and Technology) in Syracuse, open to all school age students, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Feb. 22 - play tennis at the Nation’s Sportsplex, 1 - 3 p.m.
Feb. 23 - lunch at Season’s Harvest Buffet and movie at Glenwood Movie Plex, 11:30 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.
Feb. 24 - Ski trip; see below. Participants must bring a ready-to-eat lunch or money to purchase lunch.

Ski Trip to Labrador Mountain
Ski or snowboard at Labrador Mountain on Friday, Feb. 24. Depart the Rec Center at 8 a.m. and return by 4 p.m. The trip is limited to 16 participants, grade 3 through adult. Sign up by Feb. 23; call or stop by the Rec Center. Cost is $10 per person.


Behavioral Health Services
Auricular Acupuncture and Guided Imagery
Sessions will now be held on the first Wednesday of the month from 5 p.m. - 6 p.m. at Behavioral Health Services. Kara Kaplan, Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist and Mental Health Counselor will lead the sessions. Auricular acupuncture is done in the ear and is generally painless. Acupuncture and guided imagery can help reduce stress, increase energy and quality of sleep, and help with tobacco and alcohol cravings. To sign up, call (315) 829-8760.
