Call for Nominations

Community Wellness Champions are people of all ages who are making a positive difference for themselves and others in the communities where they live and work. They share a commitment to their personal health and the health of their communities.

Some make a difference by leading or organizing activities, programs or events. Their knowledge, skills, and experience are valuable tools to help families and communities move towards a healthier future. Others make a difference simply by setting a good example – by taking care of themselves physically, mentally and spiritually and sharing that healthy lifestyle with others.

Our 2013 Community Wellness Champions will be honored later this year at the Annual Community Wellness Champions Awards Celebration held at the Ray Elm Children & Elders Center.

A call for nominations will be announced in this fall

Last year, the Oneida Indian Nation honored Josie Gibson (Turtle Clan), youth; Sheri Beglen (Wolf Clan), adult; Chuck Fougnier (Wolf Clan Council Member), Elder; Amanda Thomas Family; Travis Goff, Employee; Turning Stone Resort Casino Banquet and Catering as Community Partner; The Oneida Hawks Boys Lacrosse Team; and Kowah^ta:wi Hill as a Champion-In-Training.
