Shako:wi Gift Shop

With hand-crafted items ranging from elaborate silver earrings created by Chip Isaacs (Turtle Clan) to intricate No Face dolls by Laurel Parker (Turtle Clan), the gift shop at the Shako:wi Cultural Center has plenty to offer.

“Most of the items in the gift shop are made by our Members or by a member of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy,” Kandice Watson (Wolf Clan), education and cultural relations director, said. “Items include leather, beadwork, crafts and woodwork. We do have some hand-painted feathers which are unique. We also have some items that are not hand-made, like Minnetonka moccasins and books on the Haudenosaunee.”

The gift shop, which operates on the same schedule as Shako:wi (daily 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. except on holidays, including American Indian Day, the Friday before Labor Day), offers an assortment of goods. Most items fall within the $20 to $30 range.
