Kids' DayAnnual Event Focuses on Healthy Families
Overcast skies and showers didn't cloud the fun during Kids' Day held at the Ray Elm Children and Elders Center. Team Kids was the theme of the 17th annual event, sponsored by Oneida Nation Government Programs and Services.
From the Early Learning Center's Grand Slamwich station to the Dental Department's famous smiles match game, participants learned the importance of staying healthy, having fun and enjoying their summer. It also showcased the important rolls various department have in keeping families healthy said Pat Catalano, health promotion specialist. Also on hand were Nation Representative and PGA Apprentice Ray Halbritter (Wolf Clan) and the staff from the Golf Department, who gave several children a chance to learn how to swing a golf club properly. Dimples, the Turning Stone Resort DChampionship official mascot, also entertained the crowd. The event was free for Nation Members, Oneida Nation Health Center Clients, family members, and children enrolled at the Early Learning Center.
