Oneida Indian Nation Government Programs and Services (GP&S) sponsored the 7th annual Enter the Healing Circle event at the Ray Elm Children and Elders Center.
The event showcases everything from modern medicine to spa treatments and is designed specifically for adult Oneida Nation Members, Oneida Nation Health Services clients, and fellow GP&S employees. “We feature an array of services here,” explained Pat Catalano, health promotion specialist. “Participants could find out more about our health services and have simple health screenings done, as well as take time to pamper themselves with chair massages and paraffin wax dips. We also had Turning Stone chefs on hand to demonstrate how easy it is to prepare simple, healthy meals.” Enter the Healing Circle was designed to address all aspects of health including physical, emotional, and well-being. Among the highlights was a make-your-own bug spray table manned by Tammy Patterson (Wolf Clan), activities leader, who joined regular exhibitors from the Nation’s health and dental departments. Also welcomed this year was local chiropractor Sheridan Mish, HCR Home Care and Cancer Services Program.
