Employee PicnicSummer Event Shines Through the Showers
More than 2,700 people, including 1,100 employees, participated in the 2010 Employee Picnic. The annual event was held at the Villages at Turning Stone RV park.
The annual family event is one of the largest employee events according to Human Resource’s Juliann Haarman and Shari Ruffalo of the workplace programs team. “Our employees are invited to come for free,” Juliann, workplace program manager, said. “They (employees) can bring a guest for free. .. and then all their children under the age of 18 are allowed in free. It’s a good opportunity for employees to balance work and life.” “It’s probably one of our greatest attendance-wise,” added Shari, employee recognition coordinator. “We usually have right around 3000 people and that includes employees and their guests who attend the picnic each year.” New to this year’s event was a scavenger hunt. Based on clues participants had to search for specific items, which would then lead them to other clues and items. Searching high and low 32 sleuths found all the necessary items. A random drawing was held and five finalists received passes for two to Enchanted Forest Water Safari. Winners were Erin Clark, food and beverage banquets; Mary McHarris, food and beverage Pino; Kim Nelson, multi-games; Candy Orbinati, food and beverage banquets; and Sabrina Talbot, food and beverage Lodge.
