A New Era of Shared Prosperity


On Tuesday, March 4, 2014, Northern District of New York Judge Lawrence Kahn approved the historic agreement between the Oneida Indian Nation, the State of New York, and Madison and Oneida counties.

The agreement resolves all outstanding disputes regarding the status of the Nation’s lands, property taxes, sales taxes and gaming at Turning Stone Resort Casino. In exchange for the Nation’s agreement to share a portion of its gaming revenues with the State, the State will discontinue all legal challenges, and end longstanding opposition to the recognition of the Oneida Nation reservation.
