Foundation Donation Benefits Military Courtesy Room - 7/29/08

August 01, 2008

Oneida Nation representatives, Keller George (retired U.S. Air Force) and Margaret Splain, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony July 29 for the Gregory J. Harris Military Courtesy Room at Hancock International Airport in Syracuse.
The courtesy room was founded to offer active-duty military personnel a separate space to wait for their flights, while enjoying a snack and a little relaxation away from the airport crowds. The Oneida Nation Foundation was among the several donors to help make the room a reality.

Loren Davies, Commandant of the Emerald City Detachment of the Marine Corps League in Chittenango, was instrumental in helping to create the room, and was a joined at the opening ceremony by his fellow league members Gene Leimer, Bill Batdorf and Ken Hafter.
