The Oneida Nation Enterprises and American Red Cross Blood Services are co-sponsoring a blood drive on Wednesday, December 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Chautauqua/Canandaigua/Saranac rooms of Turning Stone Resort Casino. The drive, which is open to the public, will help the Red Cross meet the need of local hospitals for blood and blood products, and to help with blood shortages that are typical during the holiday season.
Donor appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are accepted. To schedule an appointment to donate, please contact Pat Catalano at 829-8215.
Blood donation is a simple four-step process: registration, medical history and mini-physical, donation and refreshments. A healthy donor may donate red blood cells every 56 days, or double red cells every 112 days. For donor and eligibility guidelines, call 1-800-215-1659. The American Red Cross reminds donors that a single donation can help several patients.
