Oneida Indian Nation Homelands (May 29, 2019) — The Oneida Indian Nation carries on its time-honored tradition as the presenting sponsor of the Village of Chittenango’s annual Oz-Stravaganza this weekend May 31 – June 2.  As the Oz-Stravaganza presenting sponsor since 2011, the Oneida Indian Nation is proud to once again show its support of the community and play an integral role in this year’s celebration, which attracts thousands of people from all over the region.

With “The Magic of Oz” as this year’s Oz-Stravaganza theme, the Oneida Indian Nation’s parade float will feature Grand Marshal Ruby Rakos, who starred as Judy Garland in several productions of the musical Chasing Rainbows: the Road to Oz, about Judy’s early years and her journey to Oz – and, as part of its annual tradition, children of the Oneida Indian Nation. The Oneida Indian Nation’s Oz-Stravaganza float is colorful and includes a large swirling cyclone.

Long-Standing Support for the Village of Chittenango

In addition to the Oz-Stravaganza, the Oneida Indian Nation has shown its support for the Village of Chittenango in many other ways, including several years of sponsoring the Summer Music in the Park series, expanding food and convenience offerings in the area with the addition of a brand-new Maple Leaf Market, which is now serving gran and go meals from some of Turning Stone’s most popular restaurants.

The Oneida Indian Nation is proud to once again partake in this fun-filled community tradition, while also celebrating the four-year anniversary of Yellow Brick Road Casino, and its new Turning Stone Grab & Go culinary program at Maple Leaf Market.
