BINGO! Turning Stone Player Wins $1 Million, Largest Jackpot in Casino’s 20 Year History
Binghamton Woman Hits Winning Numbers at Million Dollar Bingo Event
Turning Stone Resort Casino’s Million Dollar Bingo lived up to its name Saturday, as Frances Slesinsky of Binghamton, NY won $1 million, the largest jackpot in Turning Stone’s 20 year history.
The final game of the program had a guaranteed minimum payout of $25,000 for Level 3 players, but in order to win $1 million, a player had to cover all the numbers on his or her bingo card in 47 draws, or less. Slesinsky accomplished the historic “cover all” on the 47th draw, to dramatically put her name in the Turning Stone record books.
Slesinsky regularly visits Turning Stone to play in marquee bingo events. She was joined Saturday by her husband and two other friends.
Slesinsky said, “It's very exciting. Great things really do happen at Turning Stone."
Oneida Nation Representative and Nation Enterprises CEO Ray Halbritter said, "Bingo was the perfect way to kick off our 20th Anniversary celebration. It is a tribute to how the Oneida Nation started its gaming operation, so it is fitting to have bingo host our very first $1 million winner in Turning Stone’s 20 year history."
Saturday’s Million Dollar Bingo was the first event of Turning Stone’s 20th anniversary celebration, which runs from now until the end of July. The month-long celebration includes big ticket giveaways, major casino gaming tournaments, special parties and events, and exciting live entertainment by today’s biggest performers.
In July, 1993, Turning Stone Casino opened its doors and changed the lives of Oneida Nation Members forever. The growth of Turning Stone has also allowed the Oneida Nation to become one of the leading employers in the region and help strengthen the Nation’s commitment to the local community.
