Oneida Nation Names Vice President for Technology
Steve Murphy Brings Experience From Microsoft and Las Vegas Resorts
Oneida Nation Enterprises named Steve Murphy Vice President for Technology, including Turning Stone Resort Casino and SāvOn Convenience Stores. He started work at the Oneida Nation December 28, 2012.
Murphy is responsible for the development and performance of all of the Oneida Nation’s information technology, and oversees the I.T. department. His experience includes positions as the Chief Information Officer, Vice President for Information Technology and similar positions at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, MGM Mirage, and Hyatt Gaming, among others. Murphy most recently served as an Executive Strategy Consultant for Microsoft Corporation.
Murphy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Hawaii Pacific University and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Webster University.
Upon joining Oneida Nation Enterprises, Murphy said, “I am very excited to be joining the Oneida Nation where its Turning Stone Resort Casino has such an outstanding reputation in the industry. In my short time thus far, I have been extremely impressed by the level of expertise and customer focus shown by its team. I am looking forward to working on ways to enhance the customer experience, both at Turning Stone and at the Nation’s other diverse businesses, in support of the Oneida Nation members.”
Oneida Nation Enterprises encompass Turning Stone Resort Casino, SāvOn Convenience Stores, Four Directions Productions, Indian Country Today Media Network, car care, and marina operations. It is one of the largest employers in Central New York, with more than 4,500 workers.
