The Verona Fire District last week received another quarterly check from the Oneida Indian Nation for fire protection services that the District provides. Clint Hill of the Oneida Nation Council presents the check for $25,000 to Fire District Commissioner Dennis Relyea. The Oneida Nation has been contributing regularly to the fire district for its services via a Nation-community agreement that dates back to 1993. The Fire District provides fire protection and rescue services to the Turning Stone Resort and other Nation properties in the district in conjunction with the Oneida Nation’s Public Safety Department.
