Rome Sentinel Touts Oneidas for “First to have a float”
An editorial in last evening’s Rome Daily Sentinel stated that “the Oneida Indian Nation can be proud that it was the first Indian tribe to have a float last Thursday” in the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The Sentinel’s commentary went on to say that in addition to being the first Indian Nation to have a float in the parade, the Oneidas were “the first tribe to host a PGA tour event, and an animated film produced by the Oneidas took top honors at a Hollywood film festival and was screened at the Cannes Film Festival in France.”
