Gingerbread Alpine Village, on display through the holidays, in the main lobby/garden area by the waterfalls at Turning Stone Resort and Casino. Turning Stone Brightens Up for the Holidays
The holiday display at the Oneida Indian Nation’s Turning Stone Resort and Casino is getting an upgrade this year. This year, there is a full gingerbread alpine village—with three houses and a church. Framed by the Resort’s facilities department and constructed/designed by the Food and Beverage staff, the contents of the gingerbread village include: 864 pounds of flour, 753 pounds of sugar; 315 pounds of icing and it took 1920 elf hours to complete.
Nighttime visitors to the Oneida Nation’s Turning Stone Resort and Casino will see a holiday wonderland from early Dec. through the first week in January. The outside of the resort property will come to life From over 20 lit Christmas trees and several giant ornaments to a six foot Santa on a chimney, large lit wreaths, candy canes and garland, and decorated metal deer and bears, Turning Stone is being “decked out” for the holiday season. In addition, the inside of the resort has again become a holiday delight with an array of Christmas trees and other decorations, including lit penguins, a team of Santa’s reindeer and other holiday frills Note: Click the video icon to view a short slide show of the Turning Stone food and beverage staff putting the finishing touches on the Gigerbread Alpine Village while Megan Brown, assistant pastry chef, talks about the making of...
