Statement Responding to Madison CountyStatement from Mark Emery, director of media relations, Oneida Nation Office of Public AffairsThe cities of Sherrill and Oneida, National Grid, and most recently Oneida County all have sat down and hammered out agreements with the Oneida Nation. Madison County is the only group that has not been able to reach an agreement. For this to work, you have to want to move forward together rather than litigate this issue for years to come. Madison County is being less than truthful in their remarks. They knew the negotiations were going on as they have the same attorney as Oneida County and the Nation offered them the same deal as Oneida County, though the monetary amount was different since the casino isn't there.
