Oneida Nation Spending Propels Local EconomyThe Oneida Nation and its business enterprises, especially Turning Stone Resort and Casino, are major purchasers of products and services from other businesses. The total vendor spending for the past year topped $318.6 million—with more than $161.3 million being spent in New York State. Here in the five counties of Central New York, the Nation bought local goods and services worth about $86 million. Those local purchases ranged from dry cleaning and laundry services to products such as lumber, produce, asphalt and plumbing supplies. The local breakdown was as follows:
