Turning Stone Credited for Helping to Stabilize Area Economy
One of the reason’s Fitch Ratings cited for assigning an ‘A-‘ rating to Oneida County is the presence in the area of Turning Stone Resort and Casino.
According to the Credit Summary section of their recent news release on Business Wire, “The successful gaming operation at the Oneida Indian Nation should continue to aid economic growth in the area.” With a workforce of 4,800, a payroll that tops $124 million a year and annual spending for goods and services of nearly $320 million (about $85 million locally), the Nation is a key component of the area economy.
