Turning Stone Again Proves Itself as “The Place to Be”

Pro Boxing Fight Night Draws Thousands, Including Past Adversary

An exciting night of professional boxing drew thousands of guests to the Turning Stone Resort Casino Event Center Saturday January 28. Pro Boxing Fight Night is just one example of what has made Turning Stone into a world-class, premiere destination for entertainment and tourism. Even the pro boxers on the eight fight card hailed from as near as Utica and as far as the Bahamas and Puerto Rico.

In the Co-Main Event, Eric Fields of Oklahoma defeated Derrick Brown of Utica by unanimous decision to earn a shot at the UBC Heavyweight championship. In the Main Event, Tony Grano of Connecticut scored a third-round TKO over Brian Minto of Pennsylvania to become the number one contender for the NABF Heavyweight title.

But it’s more than just boxing and concerts in the Turning Stone Event Center that draws guests from around the world. Top-notch gaming, golf, restaurants, shows, and luxurious spa experiences are just some of the amenities that keep guests coming back to Turning Stone.

Former New York Governor David Paterson said he’ll be back. Paterson attended the Turning Stone boxing event Saturday night with friends. Even though the former governor and the Oneida Indian Nation didn’t always see eye-to-eye on a number of issues during his time in office, Paterson said he expects to return to Turning Stone in June as part of his visit to the International Boxing Hall of Fame induction ceremony in nearby Canastota.

Paterson now hosts “The Governor David Paterson Show” weekdays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on WOR News Talk Radio 710 in New York City.
