Oneida Indian Nation Announces Employees of the Year - 2/25/09
At a banquet held last evening at Turning Stone Resort and Casino, Christine (Tina) Abbott of Rome and Nevzudin Mestrovac of Utica were named Employees of the Year for 2008 for the Oneida Indian Nation.
In addition to plaques denoting the honor, Abbott and Mestrovac each received a five-day, four-night trip for two to one of three destinations: Las Vegas, Disney World, or the Grand Canyon. A cashier at the Nation’s Plaza Mart SavOn in Oneida, Abbott has been with the Nation for three years. She was Employee of the Month for January. A native of Bosnia, Mestrovac is a carver in the Rodizio Restaurant, the Brazilian steakhouse at Turning Stone. He has been employed by the Nation for five years. He was Employee of the Month for October. The Nation employs 4,777 employees and is the largest employer in Oneida and Madison counties.
