Turning Stone Resort Championship Earns "Best of" Award at PGA TOUR Meetings - 11/18/09PGA TOUR event honored for Best TOUR Branding and Signage
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FL - The Turning Stone Resort Championship was honored by the PGA TOUR at the TOUR’s Tournament Advisory Council (TAC) Meetings this week.
The 2009 Turning Stone Resort Championship earned an award for “Best PGA TOUR Branding and Signage” for its initiatives at Atunyote Golf Club at Turning Stone Resort. The TOUR branding for on-site signage and collateral materials was designed to provide a classic, consistent look that added to the overall presentation, both on-site for spectators as well as the televised broadcast of the event. “On behalf of the PGA TOUR, I am thrilled to congratulate the Turning Stone Resort Championship for the special recognition it has received for its efforts in the area of Best PGA TOUR Branding and Signage,” said Rick George, PGA TOUR executive vice-president and chief of operations. “The tournament committee should be extremely proud of its hard work and for being recognized as the best among its peers on the TOUR.” The 2010 Turning Stone Resort Championship, captured this year by Matt Kuchar in a six-hole playoff over Vaughn Taylor, will be held at Atunyote Golf Club at Turning Stone Resort in Verona, NY. The charitable dollars from the event are distributed by the Upstate New York Empowerment Fund, a philanthropic arm of the Oneida Indian Nation and the Turning Stone Resort Championship. “We tried to integrate the PGA TOUR logo and the Turning Stone Resort through a consistent signage program,” said Monte Ortel, the Tournament Operations Manager for the Turning Stone Resort Championship. “We did it through signage on course and in the media to achieve a very clean and professional look.” About the PGA TOUR The PGA TOUR is a tax-exempt membership organization of professional golfers.
