Hollywood is Coming to Turning Stone for the Holidays - 9/22/11

The 2011 Holiday Season at Turning Stone Resort Casino will include Hollywood Golden Era and Beyond – Icons of Costume Exhibit. From Nov. 25 through Jan. 28 visitors to Turning Stone Resort Casino will be able to experience the magic of legendary movies such as: “The Wizard of OZ,” “Terminator2: Judgment Day,” “Gentlemen Prefer Blonds,” “Gone with the Wind,” “Cleopatra,” “Bull Durham,” “The Ten Commandments,” “The Maltese Falcon,” and many more.

This exciting collection of costumes and rare memorabilia is from the collection of John LeBold, who has been collecting them for the past 50 years. It all began when he purchased a black cocktail dress as a present for his mother. The dress, he learned, had a pedigree and had been worn by Hollywood legend Marlene Dietrich in one of her many films. Eventually, the young LeBold found himself in Hollywood where he met famous designer Edith Head and eventually became a dresser for the “Carol Burnett Show,” “The Smothers Brothers Show” and the “Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour.” Today, his huge collection totals more than 1,500 costumes; the Turning Stone Exhibit is considered “The Best of” and features more than 30 costumes and rare memorabilia.

The Turning Stone “Icons of Costume Exhibit” will be open Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from Noon to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 1 to 9 p.m. starting Friday, Nov. 25. Cost for admission is $6. Advance sale tickets, perfect for holiday giving, are on sale in person at the Turning Stone Box Office, or by calling 361-SHOW or toll-free at 1-877-833-SHOW.
