Title Match Highlights Turning Stone Boxing Card - 9/9/10
The vacant WBC/USNBC Middleweight Championship will be decided on Saturday, Oct. 2 in the Event Center at Turning Stone Resort and Casino. Undefeated Brazilian pugilist Isaac Rodrigues (17-0, 13 KOs) will put his unblemished record on the line against fellow power-puncher Samuel Miller (20-4, 17 KOs) of La Habra, Calif. The Main Event is scheduled for 12 rounds. Rodrigues is making a return engagement to Turning Stone, where he won a majority decision over Bryan Vera last February.
The co-feature is an eight-round battle of lightweights; Brian Miller (8-0, 3 KOs) of Schenectady and Ikem Orji (6-3, 2 KOs), who was born in Nigeria and now resides in Laurel, Md. Also on the docket is an exciting women’s match between Plattsburgh’s Jackie Trivilino (4-2, 1 KO) and Jennifer Scott (2-2, 2 KOs) of Warren, Ohio. Trivilino went toe-to-toe with Angel Gladney at Turning Stone in June. The six rounds of continuous action brought fans to their feet and earned Trivilino the distinction as “Fighter of the Night.” The undercard also includes a couple of four-round contests; light heavyweights Stephen Scott (3-1) and Deferson Legrand (3-0, 2 KOs) and cruiserweights Brian Clookey (2-0, 1 KO) and Patrick Budd (2-1, 1 KO) Additional fights may be announced soon and all bouts are subject to change.
