(Dec. 19, 2016) Over the past sixth months, culminating with end-of-year bonuses, the Oneida Indian Nation has invested close to $13 Million in raising the wages of all its employees.  Nearly all employees received an increase or bonus during this period, clearly underscoring the value the Nation places on its staff.

“The Oneida Nation has always placed a top priority on investing in our employees as a way to strengthen the Nation and its enterprises, and also to bring economic prosperity to our people, the local community and its residents,” said Ray Halbritter, Oneida Nation Representative and Nation Enterprises CEO.  “Part and parcel of maintaining world-class operations is having world-class employees, and this investment is a testament to our appreciation and commitment to our team members.”

The new investment in Oneida Nation staff, which includes increased compensation and enhanced workforce training, are being added to the roster of excellent pre-existing employee benefits, including annual pay increases for hourly staff. In fact, of the $13 Million investment in staff for 2016, a large percentage was used to adjust starting wages upward. This significant change effectively leads to pay increases across the board at every salary level, especially in areas that are competitive positions in the marketplace.

Today’s announcement comes on the heels of the Oneida Nation’s unveiling of plans last month for one of the most extensive upgrade projects in the history of its Turning Stone Resort Casino. This includes the opening of a new contemporary-style gaming floor with both smoke-free and smoker-friendly facilities, renovated new guest rooms in the AAA Four Diamond rated Tower hotel, and an all-new Food Hall, which the Nation is currently hiring for 80 culinary and restaurant positions for the grand opening on December 8.

In addition to these new positions and added initiatives for its own staff, the latest announced upgrades at Turning Stone have created 75 high-quality jobs for local tradesmen, generating business for area companies.
