On Thursday, Aug. 3 the Oneida Indian Nation Police held their annual BBQ for Elders at the Ray Elm Children and Elders Center in Oneida. Participants in the Elders Program and their guests were treated to delicious BBQ fair including ribs, chicken, potatoes, beans, salads and strawberry shortcake for dessert. Gift baskets were awarded to lucky prize drawing winners. The evening offered a great opportunity for visiting with family and friends.
The event is one of the many educational, nutritional and social programming activities available to Nation Members through the Government Programs and Services Department. The Elders Program is open to all American Indians age 55 and older. For more information or to enroll in the program, contact Kathy Willard at (315) 829-8133 or 1-800-685-6115.
