Presented by the Oneida Indian Nation, Fort Stanwix National Monument, and the Rome Historical Society

The Oneida Indian Nation, in collaboration with Fort Stanwix National Monument and the Rome Historical Society, is proud to present the return of the First Allies Craft Fair on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Fort Stanwix National Monument in Rome, NY.

This family-friendly, free event will highlight the vibrant culture of the Oneida Indian Nation and the broader Haudenosaunee Confederacy through authentic arts, crafts, and social dance exhibitions.

Guests can explore a variety of handmade items displayed outdoors on the Fort’s front lawn, including jewelry, beadwork, wood carvings, textiles, ceramics, and more — all created by American Indian artisans and available for purchase.

Throughout the day, Haudenosaunee social dance presentations will offer a dynamic glimpse into the Oneida people’s traditions, providing both entertainment and cultural education for all ages.

Location:

  • Fort Stanwix National Monument, 100 N. James Street, Rome, NY
  • Parking: Available across from the Fort at 121 N. James Street.

The name First Allies honors the historic alliance between the Oneida Indian Nation and the United States during the Revolutionary War, including the Nation’s role in defending Fort Stanwix against a British siege.
