Just ahead of the opening day for its 2016 golf season, two of Turning Stone Resort Casino’s award-winning courses have once again been honored among the top 10 in the entire state of New York by Golfweek Magazine. The destination resort’s Atunyote and Kaluhyat courses ranked sixth and seventh respectively out of 15 New York honorees on “Golfweek’s Best: State-by-State Courses You Can Play” for 2016.

Those interested in teeing off on these best-in-the-state courses need only wait a few more days. Kaluhyat, along with Turning Stone’s Pleasant Knolls and Sandstone Hollow courses, are scheduled to open this Friday, April 15, with Atunyote following shortly on April 29.

Meanwhile, Turning Stone’s upcoming luxury retail expansion has provided the opportunity for an exciting redesign of the resort’s popular Shenendoah course. This season, world-renowned course designer Rick Smith will be redesigning the course he originally designed sixteen years ago. The grand reopening of Shenendoah is scheduled for September 2016.

This June, the Golfweek-honored Atunyote and Kaluhyat golf courses will also be host to the 2016 PGA Professional Championship. Running June 26-29, the 312-player Championship will showcase PGA Professionals from across the country, with several from Upstate New York. The top 20 finishers earn an exemption for the 2016 PGA Championship taking place at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, N.J.

Located on a sprawling 3,400-acre complex, Turning Stone’s five pristine golf courses are surrounded by world-class amenities including four hotels, 21 restaurants and dining options, two luxurious spas, a 120,000 square foot Las Vegas-style gaming floor, legendary concerts and shows, and several bars, cocktail lounges and nightlife venues. Turning Stone is one of the top five tourist destinations in New York, hosting more than 4.5 million visitors a year. It is also the only resort in New York State to hold three AAA Four Diamond venues at one property, and recently earned a prestigious Forbes Four Star Award.
